3. Our Guest Speaker this month is Mary Delaney. Mary will be speaking on Overreaching and Overtraining. Following is a note from Mary:
"I am a physical therapist, been in practice for 30 years, 20+ in orthopedics/sports medicine. I currently work in Home Health Care. I am a Level 1 Triathlon Coach. I also have a business with my husband called "Rehab to Racing" where we work with injured athletes and keep them training during injury and also specialize in training clients who have a chronic injury that is keeping them from achieving their athletic goals.
I have been a runner for 30 years and racing Triathlon for 8. Last year I won my Age Group at Long Course Nationals in Arkansas and competed at the Long Course World Championship in Sweden.
I am going to addresss Overreaching and Overtraining. I will clarify the difference between the two, discuss how to identify, prevent and treat each. Should be a pretty good topic as everyone ramps up their training for the first races of the year."
