| Why be there |
1. Be an active part of the club by voting on important club business and giving your feedback to the Board.
2. Socialize and talk shop with club members and friends of the club.
3. Our Guest Speaker this month is Ed Dixon from Princeton Sports. Ed will be giving a rundown of everything you need for the upcoming Columbia Triathlon:
"We will go over everything that will occur at the Columbia Triathlon, from arriving the morning of race day to crossing the finish line. More specifically...
- Body marking
- Preparing your transition area
- Walking to the swim start
- Swim to bike transition stage
- When to mount and dismount the bike
- Bike to run transition stage
- Finish line
Also, we will split up into several groups and discuss the following...
- All points covered on the checklist
- A how to bicycle maintenance clinic: teaching each triathlete how to perform a safety inspection of their bicycle, as well as basic bicycle repair including tube changes and chain repair
- Hydration and power foods (power gels, bars)
- Columbia Triathlon rules and regulations
This is a lot to cover in a short time, but I am confident that we can get through all of the material in an hour and a half. Much of Princeton's staff will be participating with the meeting. If there are any points that any members would like to discuss further, we'd be happy to take the time during normal business hours to continue our discussion.
