I over did it in my training leading up the prior two weeks. Trying to get in moremilage and doing it too fast. Right calf was strained. Hurt a lot the few days prior, wasn't sure I should race as not to completely rip it apart. Taped it, and felt great the first 6 miles - 45 minutes. Then it started to hurt and I felt like I was limping when I finished - 1:39.20. Was hardly breathing hard. Strangely enough, the next day it felt better than it had in days. Completely healed itself in like 2 more days. Started running again to get ready for the Columbia metric. Will definately do better next year.
