First race of the season so there was no way I was going to let rivers of rain stop me. It was wonderful running into MMTC folks and other friends before the start. There was Arnat, volunteering at check in and offering his own dry towels after the race.
I ran hard....telling myself that I was strong after Doug's hill workout last Thursday and that this was nothing compared with the Columbia course. It was a big help knowing the course well. I saw Michele and Jen in front of me and became determined to keep Jen's orange vest within sight no matter what. At the end I really poured it on and luckily didn't thrown up on Michele and Jen as they helped remove my chip.
Bob Reid was out there as a spectator waiting for his mentees to finish!!
Clyde's was fabulous to open the Tomato Palace for all of us. The food was better than ever. I can't say enough about the volunteers who were out there on the course with no way to keep warm. Let the Spring begin!
