Saturday was a great deal of fun. As a competitor, I feel that I have a faster time in me. But some other life requirements (job, home, kids) and a couple of nagging little injuries, conspired to limit my training for the past few weeks. Except for the run, however, I was extremely happy with my effort. I should have drank a bunch more before/during the race, which would have helped my run. It did not help matters when I dropped my water bottle on the exchange during the bike segment.
Being in the next to last wave gave me the opportunity to see lots of MMTC racers on the run course, and I managed to hook up with Tim for the last part of the run. Neither of us were blazing any trails at that point, and it was nice to get to know a fellow club member.
Thanks to everyone in the tent for all of your support. It is nice to have a spot to hang in the midst of all the craziness of the pre-race, and then celebrate the effort post-race.
Sadj -- you rock out there!
