Race Report:

The Baltimore Running Festival is definitely worth checking out. Having been a Baltimore resident for several years it is fun to do a local race that runs though all the neighborhoods I'm used to running though. On race day, everyone downtown gets super excited. People sit on their stoops and watch the runners go by - people are cheering for you who look like they've never run a mile in their life - but yet they are super excited for you!

The course is definitely challenging though. The hills start as you make your way north and really just keep going until you turn south back toward the finish. This is no PR course! It is however, very scenic - winding through various different neighborhoods. The race support is excellent as far as I'm concerned, and the gummy bear station near 33rd Street has become legendary - they really do taste good!

The best part of the race is the shirts - all the runners get Under Armour technical t-shirts that are GENDER SPECIFIC - YAY! for Ladies t-shirts! The marathoners get a sweet long sleeve tee and the half marathon and other races get short sleeve tees.

I had a good race, the only problem was that I was training to run the Marine Corps Marathon two weeks later, and I definitely went too hard on a hilly course on a hot day. I'll be back again next year but with (hopefully) a better plan!
