This was my first Columbia Triathlon and also my first Olympic distance triathlon. Attending a wedding the day before was not your typical taper event before a tri, but the two gin and tonics kept me relaxed and helped me sleep. The weather was a little overcast, cool, and some rain, but that wasn't going to stop me from enjoying every bit of it. Having family there was awesome, my wife Stephanie and daughter Tessa, my parents, my brother, and sister were all there to cheer me on. The club tent was a perfect meeting place and good food. The goals were 25 minutes for the swim, 1:30 for the bike, and 50 minutes for the run, and I met them all. The T1 was added to the bike time due to some technical difficulty, my bike computer said 1:27ish. Had some trouble with the timing bracelet after the swim and some near cramps putting on shoes, but everything else went great. All the training paid off.
This was by far the most fun I've ever had at a triathlon.
