The race was delayed due to traffic. I never felt better on a swim! I felt strong, didn't panic - swam the whole way. When I saw the clock at the end, I was confused because it appeared as if my swim time was LONGER than last year. Ok - had to move on to T1 and get on the bike. I have no idea what I did there for over 4 minutes - but I had a nother slow T1. I kicked butt on the bike and missed my sub-1 hour goal by only 12 seconds. I did go out a bit hard on the bike though because the run was tough. I started walking up Gatorade hill - but saw the MMTC folks telling me to run - so I ran.
Over all, my swim was a minute longer. Big time bummer but I'm chalking it up to a longer course this year or a shorter one last year. Tickled pink with my bike and run times - 1 minute bike improvement and 2 minute run improvement over last year.
