I had a blast--swim started into overcast, still dark sky and I felt like I was rowing a boat in my full body wet suit. Water seemed warm. At one point, every time I took a breath I looked into the tonsils of a woman swimming exactly my pace who was taking breaths at exactly the same instant as we both breathed on opposite sides. We went like this for 25 yards. At the finish, keep thinking I'd hit the bottom and run up but it was deep right up to the bank. Very slow on the transition--need to improve that for next year. Bike was fun. Will get a faster one for next year but my fatter tires might have been a plus on the rain-slicked roads. I had another slow transition but was glad to be out on the run. Cramped up in my hamstring the last mile ... was disappointed I didn't break 3 hours but feel I can next year. I was really glad I did it!
