This was my first time doing this race. My hubby did it last year and I did the fun run with my two boys. This year we swapped. My 7-yr old started off last but finished 4th-maybe a future MMTC'r!
Saw some familiar faces before the start. Yeah Susie, you are awesome, just seeing your face gives me energy!
This race seem to go by very fast compared to the 10-mile Cherry Blossom last weekend so that was good. I could see Mike ahead of me the whole time but could never quite catch him. He has such a laid back running style-makes it look so easy.
I was shooting for 50 minutes so all in all it was a good race. But for some reason when I hit the turn off 175 and headed to the finish line I had a couple small panic attacks. Have no idea why but just kept talking to myself, "I'm fine, I can still run, I'm not going to faint". But my heart was just racing and I wasn't able to full out sprint and finish strong like I would have wanted to. But I saw my hubby and kids near the finish line and that pulled me in.
I was disappointed about the food lines and lack of stuff left for us later runners. No bagels or donuts :( But the kids had fun chasing ducks!
Oh, the 78/612 is just the females, I didn't have the energy to figure out the age group place.
