For those of us who have done this race more than once, we get to know the routine..get you shirt/chip either a few days before the race, or wait until race morning and pick it up before 11:30am, for the 1:15pm race. Then park near the finish line, and run up to the race start, for a nice little warm up. It just seems line time really gets "eaten" up with this only 1:15pm race.
Some race years, the weather can be really nice, but this year was a little cool.. but I still ran without a shirt or socks, just to run the fastest possible.
Splits were: 6:56, 7:41, 7:43 and :48 for 23:03 total.
If I were running in the 55-59 age group, would have come in 3rd...but as we know, everyone beating you in your current age group, also moves up..bummer..
While the food is very lacking at the finish (nothing warm), the beer really flows.
