Comment: Rain, rain and more rain

Race Report:

Great course, I love the bike course as it can be really fast.
It rained all the way, the swim was cancelled due to visibility (?) looked fine to me but I suppose it was for safety.

I expected some rain but never this much, driving to the site I passed through the storm that hit us on the course later, it was bad.

Arrived at the Firehouse with plenty of time to spare and rode to the race site, it’s only about 1.7 miles maybe. Same day registration is great, everything about this race and the way it is set up is easy, I must say I think Piranha Sports does an excellent job in many aspects.

I don’t believe the published distances are right, I found everything to be a little shorter.

I felt I was slow on the first run, I started at the front and a lot of people passed me and kept passing me. I was trying to pace myself to reserve my strength for the ride and last run.

Ride – wet, very wet, stay off the white lines, watch the corners and break early. This course is fantastic, especially when dry.

Transitions – perfect did not get lost, very smooth in and out.

2nd run – again felt like I was getting passed often, I think I need to loose a couple of pounds I put on over the Winter, it’s really making me slower.

Great course, great local event, highly recommend it. Great to see everyone out there and of course the crew that set up the tent. Fantastic job! I had to leave right after the race as I had people coming over for a BBQ and yes that did happen as the rain eventually stopped.
