I have been trying for 5 solid years to break 2 hours. I have 2 kids under 2 and a VERY supportive hubby, who like to see me shine. I am so proud of this time, it took me 48 hours to finally cut off my hot pink Aflac bracelet.
I just want to give a shout out to Marcos and the nice other gentleman, who's name I didn't get, for letting me use their phones to try and call my hubby after the race. I knew he was hiding with the kids somewhere to get out of the rain.
I also wanted to mention that I am not a very active member of MMTC because I work full time and because of the babies. I did get a few strange looks as I grabbed half a bagel for my daughter and a cookie at the end of the race. I wish I had more time to train with the club and participate in the RBR's. But now that i know what I am capable of I want to try for a half Ironman next year :)
Thanks to those few friendly faces that recognized me and said good job at the end.
