Early morning breakfast of oatmeal and a half cup of coffee. The hubbie and I left earlier this time to avoid traffic on 108. We arrived at Columbia late and the park had closed off already.
I set up the transition and saw some friendly faces early on. Kiersten was close by and the hubbie was a few racks away. My goal was to be under 2 hours...
Swim 20:05. I wanted to go under 20, but I'll take it. I felt relatively good, didn't kick to much. Found lots of seaweed/pondweed after turning the corner. Place 11/121.
Transition 2:43. Not bad considering I like to lounge in transition!
Bike 1:04.50. 16.2 average. I was feeling good until Mt.Albert and took a little longer to recover after that hill. I was just trying to go fast so my husband wouldn't catch me..but he caught up after the school. I need to work on the hills some more!
Transition 2:06- Thanks to mother nature I had to make a extra stop....
Run 36:56...ouch. I struggled with the run. The hip wasn't feeling to hot,and my bricks were lacking after Eagleman. Saw my hubbie go in towards the finish and Kiersten found me shortly after. I think I have found a new training buddy! Came in the finish 6 min shy of my goal.
The hubbie placed 5th in his division, and as a married couple, we placed 2nd in the division!
It was great to have the support of MMTC at this race. We have an amazing club!
