Had a great time at this race!
Swim times in previous years had been crazy fast since it seems the swim went with the current. I thought this would be perfect for my first 1/2 mile and open water swim. Um, yeah, we swam against the current. I felt pretty good though--need to work on sighting.
T1 went pretty smoothly, I struggled a bit to get one foot out of my wetsuit and getting my tri jersey on over wet skin.
Nice flat bike course with almost no traffic. My bike computer sensor got knocked enough to not work and I didn't want to take time to stop and fiddle with it. Since I didn't have a clue how fast I was riding or distances, I just tried to keep a steady pace--tried to push myself a little but didn't want my legs to be dead on the run. Time was a bit slower than I was shooting for but not too bad. Despite the long flat stretches, I was still too chicken to ride my aero bars.

Flew through T2, which is pretty easy when you don't have to change shoes.
Run went okay. I took it very slow on the first mile. It is an out and back run and on the way out I was running against the wind. I was hoping I would have the wind at my back once I made the turn. Too bad, it died down about 3 seconds after I turned.

All in all, I really enjoyed this race. I said my goal was to break 1:45. Squeaked by with 5 secs to spare.
