This race turned out to be my best times for this course! My first triathlon was Iron Girl in 2009, and my time then was 2:46. I then did Celebration Sprint this past June and my time was 2:31. And yesterday I did it in 2:22 !! woohoo! All this training, the hills, the running, etc... is actually paying off !!
I did this triathlon for charity and I was part of TEAM EMBRACE and raised money for The ARC OF Howard County. It felt good to be able to have fun AND give back and help out!!! And even though I was not wearing any MMTC gear at all (I was all decked out in TEAM EMBRACE clothes), it was nice to be able to hang out at the MMTC tent, get some water and some of those delicious cookies after the race!!
I can't point out any part of the race that went particularly 'bad'...except that I really wish the rain had held off. Biking in that nasty stuff made me pretty nervous!! This was also a VERY crowded event, and swimming in such a large wave made me a bit nervous also...for the first time, I got kicked in the nose with someone's foot!! UGH, that didn't feel too good!!!
Ok, well next race...SAVAGEMAN 30.0 in September!!!
