Race Report:

My oldest son came down with a stomach flu 2 nights before the race and I didn't get to sleep at all. Then, I put so much pressure on myself to make up some sleep the night before the race that I laid in my bed all night, awake! So, needlesstosay, I felt miserable the morning of the race. However, this must be my secret weapon.

I finished the swim time in 22:12, which is typical of past irongirl swims. After a year with swim masters, I thought I'd get faster.

T1 - 1:55 I had a nice spot on the end so that was helpful.

Bike: 56:48 I felt pretty strong on the bike yet cautious since it was wet.

T2 - 1:09

Run 25:18 - I was running out of steam by the time I started the run. However, I saw the girl who placed ahead of me in the celebration sprint race and decided that it was my turn to beat her. I believe she's beat me every year that I've done Irongirl - this is my 5th one. So, I mentally pushed past my sheer fatigue and past her and kept strong right to the end and had an irongirl PR for my fastest run by almost a full minute.

I want to really thank the volunteers for coming out in the rain and being so supportive. This club is so awesome. I only wish I could participate in and help at more events. However, if anyone ever needs help with their nutrition, I would love to work with you. It makes such a difference in your training and your whole day when you feel strong. Now, if anyone could help me sleep before a race...
