I finally gave in to the call of Columbia after completeing my first Oly tri last summer. While my training wasn't all that I wanted it to be, I did go into the race knowing that I had my running legs back after a milk running break due to back injuries.
Swim-want to go for 30 min but had a slight panic attack when the body parts started flying. Got it under control and then did the best I could. I think I may stick with the sleeve less wetsuit for future races
Time 35:28 (70/90)
T1-3:55 not great
Bike-went okay, wish i had more training time on this course, but I knew where the hills were and was able to pass people on them. Got one complement of being an awesome climber. Was able to drink and take some blocks, but probably wasn't enough due to the heat when it came time for the run.
Time 1:30:36 16.9 mph (47/90) got me to 61/90
But my legs started to give me feedback from the start (plus when I was switching shoes I noticed my core muscle cramping slightly.) But I gave it my all. took water at mostly all the stops except when the person didn't hand it to me, drank some and poured it on myself. Got some more blocks into me. But my place slowed at a few sections, I never walked but did the shuffle. By the time I came around the loop to the finish, I was near the end of my juice, but the finish line (with the faboulous MMTC tent) called.
Time 53:32 (23/90) 8:41 pace
It tooks about 15 minutes of hydrating before I felt like my legs would keep me standing. It also helped that I got a quick massage from Nic E at the team fight tent.
I had wanted to go under 3 hours, however I will take this and use it to figure out what to do for the Half-ful later.
