What a great weekend to be outside. The temperatures were not as hot as originally predicted, and just overcast enough to keep the temperatures from going beyond the 70's.
The last time I ran this race, we started farther back and had a slight uphill before going downhill. The first mile is always really fast as most of it is downhill or flat.
I hoped to break 21 min, but have only been base-building and have done NO speedwork or hard workout for the past 8 weeks. I did feel that my legs needed to be tested and was really ready to go fast.
My time was good, based upon past year results. Overall pace was 7:10, so not too bad.
It was nice that there were already a large table of poured beer at the beer garden. Saw lots of friends, but did not stay for the raffles. Great day and time for a race and getting to be the first people on the St. Pat's Day parade route is really special.
