10 or 15 seconds slower than last year. GRRRRRRRR! I was expecting to run in the 41 range. So much for expectations.
Tons of MMTC folks, Don Klein sorry I forgot your name, you need a nickname or something. Lisa Lisa was there, Amy and Tom Fine-Dugas or Dugas as the case may be, Deano, Geoff Mantr(sp) my brother Dave Wheeler, Dave Dash....The list goes on...
My splits were MUCH more consistant this year. Last year I felt I went out way to fast and just held on at the end. This year I went out and stayed just below 7 minute pace...Until the hills. My splits on the hills at miles 3 and 4 were 7:09 and 7:20 repectively. That was my undoing. I thought I could make the time up later but to no avail.
Adam, (swim coach), where were you?
Oh, almost forgot I saw Jesse the perpetual motion man there also. I said he didn't race, but you know Jesse, he probably just didn't wear a chip. ;-)
After the race I gobbled down some great Clydes Chili, Chicken sandwich, banana, orange, and a powerade and went for a 41 mile ride to relax a bit.
