Comment: A new PR...what a great season so far!

Race Report:

Wow. What an amazing season this has been. Looking forward to the taper this week heading into Ironman Wisconsin.

I was fortunate to have my husband and boys volunteering on Gatorade Hill this year. I was happy that I took a little longer in transition in the morning, so I was able to cover my shoes before the downpour.

Seeing as my husband and I are quite competitive with one another...he previously beat me on the swim for Celebration by using a speedsuit. So I borrowed the suit to prove that my time would be faster.

Swim- 17:46. Not bad, fastest time on the course yet.

Transition- 2:55. Horrible place on the rack and in the corner. Speedsuit off, out on the course.

Bike- 1:01.07 17.2 mph. I was quite happy with this time. Fastest pace over the last 3 years on the course...Hills didn't feel bad was above my FTP on the watts but felt great. The bike fit that I had earlier in the week at Princeton helped tremendously. I am not a strong biker, but learning to embrace the suck..I mean hills.

Transition- 1:53- Nearly slid down the hill..went a little slower. Shoes on and ready to run. I felt great the 1st mile and then started to unravel a bit. First mile 8:15 pace...saw the boys on top of the hill and couldn't do anything but smile and give high 5s. Had a rough time but still managed a 9:17 pace.

Run 31:31 pace 9:17

I went out and starting cheering the irongirls on after I finished and headed back to the tent. What an awesome tent...thanks to Melissa and crew. I ended up walking up towards gatorade hill and had to carry my little guy back to the Mid Maryland tent where they ate cake and took a break..."hanging out water was hard work mom!"

I punished myself later that night with a 2 hour long run that I missed during the sag vehicle had to come and get me after mile 11....Looking forward to racing with MMTC and EN at Ironman Wisconsin.

Congrats to all of the irongirls!!
