The DITR was a much smaller field this year. I was glad to see some fellow MMTC'ers out there, although we were in fewer numbers as well.
They cancelled the swim due to high bacteria count -- one look at that soupy water was enough for me. A number of people were grumbling about not doing the swim, but not me. Doing the Wednesday R-B-R's made me feel better about doing a duathlon rather than a triathlon.
We had beautiful weather -- not too hot and no real wind to cause problems on the ride.
I had forgotten about how hilly the first 6 miles of the bike course are here. Maybe it was a good thing that all of our planned course rides were washed out. It was nice that the road to Port Deposit was newly paved -- made for a nice fast ride into town.
All in all, my times were faster this year on the bike and run - so I was pleased with my result for the day.
See you at the next R-B-R!
