Comment: Finally broke 2 hours! PR

Race Report:

Well, finally I was able to break 2 hours on this course after 3 years of trying, and looking forward to improving at Irongirl.

Pre race- Liquid smoothie and a few bites of oatmeal.

Swim 19:28. 5/81. I was disappointed to find out that the husband beat me by 9 seconds...maybe I should swim in a swimskin too.. haha.

T 1 2:50. A little slow. Decided to go sockless on the bike for the first time. Used some trislide, and no blisters!

Bike- 1:03. 27. The garmin had 1:01? Well I have some work to do before the Irongirl course, if anyone wants to ride during the week, let me know! After Mt. Albert in the neighborhood, the chain came off my bike when I shifted down too many gears. ): A quick stop and headed back out.

T2- 2:16. As I was heading out of transition, I heard them announce that Tim was crossing the finish line.

Run 31:31. Pace 9:17. I always seem to bonk on this run course every year. My girlfriend Taryn and I went for a brick the other week and practiced the hills....which helped quite a bit. Bryan was such a tease at Gatorade hill when he said he had beer for MMTC members....and the cheering was awesome on the hill!

We waited for awards since Tim took 2nd in his age group. I was also happy that we placed second in the married couples division!

A great huge thank you to the MMTC tent volunteers!
