Went into the run with the goal of only finishing. Nursing a sore knee for about 3 weeks, but only when running up hills but even worse running down. After the pain last week at my first half Ironman I really considering dropping out of this one, but I don't tend to rest very well so I decided that four days of rest and the plan to take it easy would be fine. Forgot how hilly Baltimore is. Pain in the left knee started at about mile two and never really stopped until I got home and put it on ice. Took the run slow and stopped at each water stop to stretch.
Going to rest properly now and get it back in tip top shape. Other then the knee the run was great. Amazing to see such a sea of people in front and behind you the entire race. Porta pots left a bit to be desired...not sure how I managed to get one that did not lock all three times I used them. This race will have to be on the schedule again perhaps injury free to PR.
