Plan the work. Work the plan.
But sometimes things don't go as you plan.
At mile 11 into my 25 mile time trial, I ran over something and flatted my front tire. I guess it was fortunate that it wasn't the back tire. I didn't realize my TT bike had rear-facing dropouts in back until the other day, and I am so new to dealing with that - if I HAD flatted my rear tire, I would've been in deep you-know-what. So there I was, on the side of the road, with hordes of mosquitoes to keep me company. I had a minor meltdown watching all my competitors pass my by as I fumbled with my tube and CO2 cartridge.
So I lost 5.5 minutes on my race - enough to bump me from an effective 2nd place finish to dead last. Blech.
TT#2 is in August. My chance for redemption.
