We had a fun time at the B&A Trail race yesterday!
This is a special race for me because my mom and I do it every year, and also because it was one of my first races ever in 2009! Aleah and I ran it together that year and when we were training for it, we could not believe that we would be able to run 13.1 miles. It was such a huge accomplishment for us to even finish it that year! I think I ran a 2:15 that year. We have come a long way. Aleah ran a sub-four hour marathon yesterday at B&A and I got a PR in the half with an 8:07 pace, beating my time from last year by ten minutes. My mom, Sue Watson, got third in her age group. Also a shout-out to our friend Kate McDowell who broke 2 hours in the half! It was also fun to see our MMTri friends along the course!
P.S. The B&A race has the best goodies. You don't get a race t-shirt. Over the years we have gotten a raincoat, a sturdy duffel bag with the B&A logo and many great pockets that I use all the time, and this year... PANTS! Who wants a race t-shirt when you can have race pants?
