Race Report:

As menioned in my RRCA Mid-Atlantic Club Challenge 10mi race report, I am using an on-line coach who has greatly improving my training and racing. I had high expectations for this St. Pat's Day Parade 5k. Expectations were realized!!!

I have a long history of running this race, dating back to 1988. Here are my past results..(with splits / age at time)

1988 6:09 12:35 00:18:44 32
1989 6:40 6:29 6:20 :40 00:20:09 33
1991 5:53 6:17 5:45 00:17:55 35
1992 5:45 4:57 6:58 00:17:40 36
1993 5:36 6:33 6:55 00:19:04 37
1995 5:58 6:42 7:25 00:20:05 39
2001 6:28 6:59 8:01 00:21:28 45
2006 6:40 7:21 8:12 00:22:13 50
2007 6:43 7:28 8:31 00:22:42 51
2009 6:43 7:29 8:19 00:22:31 53
2010 6:56 7:41 7:43 0:48 00:23:08 54
2011 7:15 7:59 7:53 0:50 00:23:57 55
2012 6:46 7:30 7:20 0:47 00:22:23 56

This year's race has been the best since 2006, and drapped 1:34 over last year's results!

The wind was significant on the way out to the turn-around on Key Hwy, so tried to "draft" off of some runner, but being over 6'3", it hard to find someone my hight, but it help a litte. The run down Light Street seems to go on forever.

Great party at Power Plant Live with a real band, plenty of free beer (it always helps to be toward the front the race to grab lots of beer before the crowd), and soak up some nice sun and enjoy the 60-70's in downtown Balto. on the first day of daylight saving time.
