A couple years ago i saw a female triathlete at Eagleman with a little cooler she kept in transition, with plastic zip lock baggies full of ice; she literally packed herself in ice for the run.
Yesterday I did the same, and also put my running hat with ice in the cooler. However, I also used the ice packs for the bike. i looked like i had boobs and a big belly, and i sure the weight hurt a little bit, but I kept my core temperature down. But it was so hot the trick only lasted 40 minutes!
I did the same think for the run with the addition of ice in my hat, and it all helped. Thank God for a kid with a hose on the course spraying all of us.
the best part, as always, was seeing all MMTC's friends; and Sadj finishing the race and wining her age group.
Swim was, as usual slow, 38 mins.
Bike was fast 1:22
Run was average 40 mins
