Race Report:

One could not have asked for better conditions for Eagleman than Sunday. Low chop, overcast, and light winds. Wow!

The swim started very well, finding a good line to the turn and able to maintain good spacing and never got crowded, kicked, or dunked at all. Out of the water feeling great and 12 minutes faster than any prior Eagleman swim!

Out on the bike and ready to see if my hard work paid off. I'm not the greatest on the bike, but I still did great for me and averaged 1.6 mph faster than any prior Eagleman - I'm sure the light winds really helped! Three Gu's and two bottles of Gatorade Endurance on the bike.

Into T2, knowing I was well on pace for a big PR, had some water and headed out on the run. The sun did come out for 4 miles or so, but tucked back in and it was great. I had not spent as much time prepping for the run as I had the swim and bike, so I gradually slowed each mile split after 5 miles - but was fine with it and just kept on plugging along. Had 3 Gu's on the run and I carry a 16oz bottle of gatorade endurance which I almost finished on the run.

The highlight was seeing NATASCHA BADMANN when she was coming in at mile 12 of her run - Wow - she looked like she was taking an easy walk in the park yet she averaged a 6:21/mile on the run!! Totally awesome athlete!!

I cruised down the last 1/4 mile feeling great and coming in 39 minutes below my previous best time. Awesome feeling and awesome day!!

First time I took advantage of the post-race massage - HEAVEN!

Great seeing and hearing the cheers from all the MMTC folks!
