I was hoping to get 1:38 something, but it was more hilly than I thought it would be and really windy, so it didnít happen. The plan was to run comfortable for the first seven and then try to crank the rest of the way in (since I thought it would be downhill), but I had to keep pushing back the cranking because I was still going uphill up until mile 10. After that, I was too darn tired to crank, so I just cruised. Cruising is about two minutes slower than cranking, thus the 1:40.
The post race was nice. There was plenty of food, free beer and even a changing tent, which was really nice. I don't think there is any way I would want to do the whole marathon, but the half was fun.
